Blending fashion with sculpture, I create wearable ceramic corsets that explore themes of strength, femininity, and empowerment. My work challenges traditional ideas of garment design, combining the tactile beauty of clay with the art of fashion. Alongside my fashion work, I design large-scale tile murals and 3D wall sculptures that connect community, nature, and culture, using texture and form to tell meaningful stories. Through both wearable art and public installations, I aim to inspire confidence, provoke thought, and celebrate the complexity of identity and place.
As an environmentally conscious artist, I repurpose materials and power my studio with solar energy. With over 25 years of experience, my practice includes wearable ceramics, custom tile, up-cycled displays, and mixed media sculpture. I draw on my background in mechanics and welding to develop a unique process that not only informs my own creations but also supports the mentoring of young artists and peers. Whether through exhibitions, teaching inner-city youth, or serving on boards and committees, I strive to show how we are all connected—and how each person holds their own form of beauty worth celebrating.
